Hi,

Last night I bought the above TV. The set is great I'm very impressed, however I've run into one small problem. The house we rent doesn't appear to have a digital TV aerial.

It does have a sky dish and Virgin Media connections (we don't subscribe to either service).

My TV full spec is here;

https://toshiba-tv.com/uk-uk/55u6763db

The tuner inputs are classed as:
Tuner Type HD DVB-T2/C/S2
Dual Tuner NO
UHD from Satellite YES

Can I use either the sky dish or Virgin Media connections to get any kind of TV Channels through the TV input? I tried connecting both sets of cables to the back of the TV and doing scans but found no channles - do i perhaps need to mess around with the satellite selection??

Appreciate any help, I'm a little lost!

You can't use the VM.
You should be able to connect the Sky dish/LNB (if it's known to be in working order) and use the built-in Satellite tuner...refer to the TV's user manual on how to setup.
Or, if you live near a local TV transmitter you could maybe get away with using an indoor set-top type aerial and receive Freeview.
Maybe Buy, steal [emoji1] or borrow one and try it.

Thanks for the reply - I'm not far away from the transmitter so I have ordered an internal aerial to test out.

Unfortunately the User Manual for the TV is useless in terms of setup of the built in satellite tuner and it doesn't appear to be as simple as plugging and scanning for channels.

I'm thinking that I may need to setup the satellite choice and tweak some of the settings before scanning but I wasn't quite sure if the TV would accept/find channels on a satellite cable.

It should find something on the Freesat tuner but the VM cable is definitely not useable here in the UK without a VM cable box.

Tried again last night with the sky cables and it worked. Thanks. It turns out I was scanning the wrong satellite - not Astra 28.2!

Hi,
Toshiba 55u6763db Tuner Help
we have the same tv, tried scanning but did not find any channels, I have tried the sat cable on a freesat box and it works, put sat cable back in tv(f plug ok) and tried scan again.
this is the order.
satellite option and chose astra2, went to auto channel scan that showed at top
Satellite option1  as astra2 28.2
Satellite position2 =None
user band 1
Band frequncy 0
At the bottom there was no signal in either box but at one time did get a flicker at 90pcnt but like I say every time I wire it out it works on a independant freesat box.

On auto channel scan on astra2 028 finds knothing, am I missing something if the dish is o to enter in setup??

Hi, I’m having the same problem with my TV. Just wondering if you were able to resolve it and what you may have done? Thanks.

If you go to satellite settings in the menu and change it to Astra 0.28 then do a scan, if it finds knothing .... test the cable from satellite dish using a sky box to test all ok ok. Our TV was new so I took it back and the next tv was a Samsung worked first time 100's of channels. Our tuner before scanning when on Astra 0.28 was intermittent on the signal bars, the next tv was 95% straight away, i take it the TV was faulty.
