Somethings wrong with my 32" NEC V-323 1080p monitor so I looked around for another tv monitor at Walmart until I can get the Nec monitor repaired.

Looking at television monitors in a Walmart store can be difficult as at least in my local Walmart the sales person has no specifications available other than what's on the outside of the box.

I chose a 32 inch monitor as I'm in a motorhome and sit less than three feet away from my TV.

Using a larger monitor there's little room, sitting approx. ~2 - 2.5 feet away a larger monitor isn't really needed. 32 inches is just the right size.

I could have gotten a cheaper brand starting at $88.00 however I've never had any luck with less expensive TVs as none I've gotten in the past lasted very long.

So anyway I got the Samsung with an extended warranty that begins at the end of the manufactures warranty.

After getting the Samsung 32 inch setup in the motorhome I found out it doesn't have any bluetooth. Calling Samsung I'm told bluetooth is only available with Samsung 43 inch and larger smart TVs.

I was told I should be able to connect to a pair of bluetooth headphones via a bluetooth usb dongle installed to the tv's usb port.

However I was also told that I would not be able to pair cell phone via bluetooth.

The other thing I'm unable to find is a way to control my audio receiver with the Samsung remote. There is a app that can be installed to a cell phone where one can add smart devices however one needs to be able to log into Samsung from the cell phone which has failed after every attempts.

Smart TVs don't have anything like the breadth of software development as computers or smartphones. The idea has been pretty much a dud so far, they basically just do what they say on the box and you can't count on any extra functionality being available.

What are you trying to achieve by pairing your phone over bluetooth? Most phone to TV interaction is done over wi-fi.

I purchased a pair of bluetooth headphones and looking for a way to be notified of calls from my cell phone while watching TV, on the PC streaming, using the headphones, etc.

I guess I need to do this through the bluetooth headset i.e. if the headset has that capability.

I guess I only need perhaps is to try and pair the tv to the bt headset?

I haven't been  able to log into Samsung from my cell phone using the Samsung Smarthings app. So I'm uncertain how it works  exactly and it's capabilities.

Settings show Smarthings is used to connect mobile devices to your TV. Smarthings is a  mobile app that can be downloaded and installed from Google Play,  Microsoft, etc. onto your mobile device such as a cell phone, etc.

You then add your Samsung TV to the Smarthings app.

The SmartThings Classic mobile app enables you to control your devices from anywhere, monitor and receive notifications about what's happening at home, and automate lights, locks, thermostats, and more.

Smarthings app works with  WiFi and other wireless networks, but doesn't appear to have much or anything to do with bluetooth.

That's not a common feature of either bluetooth headphones or TV software as far as I'm aware.

The simplest solution is probably to go for a pair of headphones with little noise insulation, so you can hear the phone ringing normally. Many open back hi-fi headphones are like this.

Some bluetooth headphones have this sort of feature while others do not.

My cell phone isn't always set to ring, so I probably wouldn't be able to hear the phone ring, or the phone might be in another other room, etc.

I can remember using the older dial phones then the push buttons came along. Things use to be more simple back in the old days.

Anyway when ordering bluetooth headphones I'm learning there's many different features and not all bt headphones work the same.

Some are capable to connecting to multiple devices automatically, disconnect and then re-connect when switching between bt devices such as laptops, cellphones, microphones, earpieces,  etc. while others need to be constantly   re-paired when switching from one device to another.

Sennheisers a good brand one doesn't normally need to constantly repair bt devices. While others brands you may need to constantly repair the headphones when switching between bt devices.

A feature of being notified of a call coming in may depend on the bt device your currently connected to. Some bt devices have notification capabilities while other do not.
