Philips 2018 HDMI ARC audio not working

Hi, i am trying to get 5.1 audio from any app of the Philips 8303 TV but I can't get it to work. It seems like it only passes stereo audio via HDMI. I have set the audio out to 'bypass', which is the passtrough function if i understand correctly. I also tried the other audio out options, but none of them give 5.1 audio... any idea what i need to do?

Do you need to turn off any internal speakers for the output to become 5.1? I know you do on some TVs.

They are automatically disabled when you select HDMI out for audio.

What are you plugging into? Will this accept 5.1PCM?

Yes, it's an lg sk10y soundbar with rear speakers. It works great with an Xbox one for example.
