Got the new switch and tried it out and works fine.

I then unplugged and fead the cables through to make it tidy and powered it up again and it didn't work. [emoji35]

I then thought what have I done different and realised I had it plugged into a different extension lead to the one I have everything plugged into then it dawned on me that perhaps having the switch plugged into the extension tower that everything is plugged into won't work as it's not drawing enough power to power the switch.

I put it back in the other extension and it worked again.

I then thought could this be the same issue I had last night so tried the other switch and low and behold exactly the same [emoji85]

Long story short I have it all working now and have 5 hdmi ports that can support HDR now [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

Don't plug the power into an extension that has all your bits plugged into (mine had 7 things plugged in) it clearly requires more juice and it's not getting it when it has to share (selfish switch lol)

That is rather strange. From what i know about Electricity unless you have that tower thing you first tried it in is being pushed dangerously hard with power output that should not happen.

I am waiting for a friend to bring me a power adapter. He said an hour ago "within the next 3 hours" so could be a while.

Got adapter. This switch works perfectly at 4.2.2 4k 60hz HDR just like they claim. Or 4:4:4 at 24hz HDR etc.

Edit: it is a good switch as long as it doesn't break or something anytime soon. It seems to auto switches better than the Aten that cost me over £100 when i got it.
I would recommend this switch. It is very good for the price just make sure you got a EU to UK adapter. It is also surprisingly small.
I will update if i notice any glitches. Currently only issue i had was it would not work at 4k until i changed TV's HDCP setting from auto to 2.2. That made me worry that 1080p devices wouldn't work unless i kept changing the setting back and forth. However they do so all ok there too.

I'm using the Chromecast ultra with Ethernet 40meg sync Sky fibre and played the HDR video that is on this forum. Although it played it back at 60hz TV confirmed HDR was active.

Mine will not work if it is not plugged in to a power supply.

Thanks for the update glad to know you have it all working ok. I tried another socket on my power tower and still no joy, I begging get to wonder if it's the tower or maybe the plug adapter I'm using (a shaving adapter)

As soon as I plug it into another extension it works fine.

I'm going to try and trouble shoot and I'll post my results. The main thing though is it's working [emoji1]

Really pleased that the replacement is working for you.

It is very strange about the power situation. I am using mine with a 5W 2a adaptor which takes a tiny amount of power. Even if it didn't, the extension should blow at the fuse before just running out of power. Do you have high powered items like electric radiators hanging off of it?

Either way, the main thing is have got it up and running.

Your plug point may be at issue rather than lack of power because too many plugs LOL!

Maybe it is the adapter you are using. I got a friend to pick up a "VISITOR TO UK ADAPTER TRAVEL PLUG" from Argos.
