Just as the question says, I would like to know how bad can light bleeding be. I bought one Sony KD-55XG8505 last Friday and I like except light bleeding. It is about 25 cm from the top edge towards the inside and about 50 or more cm left-right. I knew it had light bleeding, but I did not expect it to cover such a large surface. I will post photos when I get back home (8-9 hours from now).

I returned my initial 55XG8505 because of the light bleed and I went for the one with a VA panel (55XF9005). It is sad that Sony chose to not keep the VA panel on the new series. XF8505 had a very nice and fluent experience. I guess this thread can be closed, should a moderator want to do it.

Long story short: always choose a VA panel if you want better blacks in a dark environment.
