Help wiring a 2 gang smart switch

Dunno, does the switch offer any dimming facility? If it does then it shouldn't be connected to a fan.

If you can hear a click when the switch is activated while connected to power then it's probably a relay being switched and would be fine for a fan.

I have a ZigBee inline module I use for a fan (with Hue) and that doesn't dim and you can hear the relay activating.

Switch doesn't offer dimming. Just regular on, off. Wifi enabled.

I agree with Jamie, the new switch looks like it is a 2 way switch not 2 gang and it wouldn't be suitable.

Have to say not thought of that. However, normal nomenclature for two way switching is L1 and L2, not L3 although there’s no terminal. Perhaps @Vendivorex could post pics of front of plate and instructions to clarify.

I've included the box too. One of the boxes is the single switch that has already been installed. The rear of it looked the same as the 2 gang, although I dont think it had L3.

Ok so in this case the L1 and L2 are for the individual gangs not like the way they would be labeled in a conventional 2 way switch.

The Black and brown leads going to l1 in each case would go to l1 and l2 on the new switch.  Which way round depends on which way round you want the switch.

The challenge you have is then what the live feeds are doing.  You have one loop which can be removed and then the rest need to connected to the live input on the new switch.  It might be easier to put into a separate connector block then to live, but it depends on space.
Then hopefully connect your neutral which is connected correctly at the other end and it should work as expected.

If in doubt use a qualified electrician
