Hi all,

I have just moved in my new flat and I would like to do some smart home improvements.
I have 2 Danfoss TP5000 Si installed: 1 is controlling the master bedroom and 1 is controlling the rest of the flat.
I would like to install a smart thermostat which can control, as the old ones, the bedroom and the rest of the house.

Do you think I will need 2 devices?
If so, is any kind of bundle with a master/slave smart thermostat with an affordable price?
Can you advise any good ones?

Many thanks

Good question, I have Danfoss programer downstairs and a Danfoss T500 upstairs. I can understand you wanting to get rid of them.

I was going to replace it with something from Honeywell, but thinking about Nest thermostats. But I think I would need two.

Others might be able to help. What CH system do you have, S-Plan Plus?

I suspect its S Plan  . Have a look in your 'airing cupboard' and post some pics.

I’d hazard a guess that you have a combi so no airing cupboard with a tank etc?

If so you’ll have 2 x zone valves somewhere. Under the stairs or in the cupboard on the landing would be my guess.

To put in a smart thermostat like hive / nest you’ll need to wire in a wireless receiver per zone so in your case two.

not something I’d recommend if you never done it before.

just had a look at your first picture, the black cables that come out of that junction box will be connected to your zones

I believe those are the two valves

There is a ceiling hatch which I don't have access

And this is the wiring inside the boiler

Don’t worry about the hatch or the boiler, the wiring would be at those valves into the junction box.

you would have to disconnect the existing stats and wire in 2 x wireless receivers.

If you went the Hive route you would need 2x hive stats, 2 x hive single channel receivers and 1 x hub. These can be found pretty cheap on amazon (Black Friday) and eBay but I’d imagine you’ll need to sort installation.
