I recently bought a Ring Spotlight Battery camera.  Easy to set up, no wiring, just mount where it'll connect to your wifi using the Ring app on your phone and seems to work well

If you have the funds, have a look at HiKVision products. They do a hard drive recorder and fab. infra red cameras in HD or 4K that will zoom and can be accessed remotely on a phone from anywhere, or on your TV. Hugely programmable and can store video for weeks or months. You decide.  The recorder connects to broadband via Ethernet. I have 2 cameras on mine, for front and back of house, on continuous record. IR at night is superb, as is pic. quality in HD on a large screen. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Hope this may help.

I have tried a few now, older Panasonic home system was poor resolution was so low.  Then tried a Somfy outdoor camera and house alarm system.  Lots of issues with connection and poor night vision not working.  They blamed a lot on wifi.  Just got Blink xt2 from amazon and so far its working perfectly no wires either meant to last 2 years on 2 AA lithium cells.  Id be happy if last a year!

Recent reviews of ring cameras though did mention it worked great etc but the cost of subscription to save recordings seemed excessive especially if have more than one camera.
So that's another consideration is how you want to save vid/pics.  As some only offer 7 days what if your away for 14 so got to pay more.
