I've been playing with the Ring Alarm I installed a couple of weeks ago. Currently there are no 'officially' supported 3rd party add-ons or additional sirens in the UK though I expect that will happen.

As a test I bought one of the cheap Z-wave Zipato Sirens and have paired it with the Ring Alarm.

As it only appears as a light or switch you can't by default associate it with the alarm state. You can manually trigger it as on/off though its a bit flakey - after on/off the next on doesn't work, but another on/off will.

So..poking around I saw SimpleCommands allows interaction with Ring. I didn't really want to give them access to my main account so I setup a shared Ring account with 2 factor authentication. That account can see the alarm but can't see anything with my address or real account details. Lots of stuff on the web talks about setting up SimpleCommands on your phone but I didn't need to do this - everything was just done through the webpage.

I've create a SimpleCommands routine that when the alarm goes off it will trigger the Zipato siren with on/on (2 on's to get around the glitch) and then an off after 1 minute.

Seems to work - The delay is less than 1 second compared to the base-unit siren.

I also created a 2nd routine for when the alarm it disabled to off/off the siren to force it to shut-up immediately.
