Android TV and Ring Pro video doorbell?

I am considering buying the Sony XG80 or Samsung QR60 43” TV. The Samsung works with the ring via its smartthings platform, but neither Ring nor Sony can confirm if the Ring video doorbell bell Android app will work on the Sony TV. Does anyone here have any experience of this?
