I negotiated with the company to obtain a 2 year contract to fit my need and so far they have been top quality in terms of response(within 5 minutes of a false alarm when all point of contact can not be reached) which is ok for £46 a month they are charging. However they have recently bump up the price into the region of £60 for my 2nd year of contract as they claim that the equipment i got as a sale for free is not free after first year, so while I am willing to pay this for another year, I would like alternatives moving forward.

So I have a few questions:
1. Would the kit be of any use if I terminate my contract with them at the end of 2 year(I am assuming not, but possibly for me to integrate the kit into my new system), I don't mind some DIY with electronics)?

2.Which brand of smart doorbell or what DIY/local specialist smart system would you recommend?
preferably wireless with shock sensor as I have a lot of ground floor windows.

3. Is there any company that offer just the monitoring aspect of security using my own system, as the home is often empty during the day.

4.The contract I signed currently is 3 years and I do not own the equipment, however I do have an email from their support saying I can have no-fee cancellation after 2 years, but no mention of equipment since the only records I had was asking about the 2 year contract with their marking agent.
Should I be worried that they might swallow their words, since I have no amended contract.

Many thanks,
Adane
