Just seen they are about £46. Over twice the price of the Shelly dimmer.

Measure the humidity in the room in combination with a motion sensor to only keep the music playing when you are in there. Then the fan will come on just when it is required. And likewise for the lights in the shower enclosure.

Just as a thought of what we did

Hi, thanks for answers, i'm not afraid of fiddling or DIY, i'm a software developer for 20y
however also i'd like to install something that just works

i'm asking about that hub, because i don't know if there are problems with compatibility, like Phillips Hub works only with Phillips devices  ?  or SmartThings only with Samsung devices?
Can i connect Phillips lights with another hub? (not phillips hub)

and how to configure later the system.
All automation/rules happen in a cloud? or in a hub ? is there a special app for every hub to configure the things? like IFTTT ?
and also can use IFTTT with hub and devices.

The Hue Hub will work with other Zigbee devices.

SmartThings will work with other devices too.

Home Assistant will work with most things as it’s totally customisable.

so depending on a hub, i'll have to use different 'rules engine' ? both are super customisable i guess?

My idea now is:
create few 'scenes' for my living room - like 'standard'  - normal white lights, 'movie' - let's say, a bit dimmed blue lights, or a 'romantic' - red lights and later turn on scenes by voice assistant

ah... ok, now i understand a bit better, 'phillips bridge' (not a hub) FAQ: Do I need the Hue Bridge/Hub to Use a Hue Bulb with SmartThings?

correct. They work in different ways but ultimate work the same. Except for Hue, that’s quite closed.

SmartThings and Hue require an internet connection I believe. With Home Assistant you can use local systems. Depends on which integration you use. Hive for example is online only, as you have to use their hub. But if you connect Zigbee devices to HA directly, it can be offline.

Yes no problem at all. Don’t need the internet unless you want to change things when out of the property.

The hue hub gets connected locally. So if they are on the same network it can be controlled locally. That is if the integration is done that way.

With my Homey multi protocol controller you can address the devices without the hub as well. But it does have advantages to integrate the hue hub in your overall plan. Especially for creating and integrating lighting scenes that then can be called from other controllers.
