An enjoyable and imaginative anthology film that captures Michael Jackson at the pinnacle of his illustrious career.

Originally released in the fall of 1988. Michael Jackson produced/co-wrote and starred in one of the most successful anthology films of all time. The film chronicles several of Michael's most famous songs from his Bad album, released a year earlier, and tells an enjoyable, unique, and entertaining story for the whole family.

Songs used in Moonwalker include Man in the Mirror (Opening Live Performance), Bad (Badder Segment), Speed Demon (Claymation and Live Action Segment), Smooth Criminal (Live Action Short Film), and Come Together ("Live" Performance).

Plot Overview: Michael receives unexplainable (but very useful) powers from a recurring shooting star. Using these special powers granted to him, Michael in an effort to save his young friends must defeat a ruthless yet zany drug dealer Frank LiDeo (Joe Pesci).

Overall Thoughts: This is a very fun film. It is filled with dazzling special effects, outstanding music and choreography, fantastic set designs, underrated musical score, and a fun adventure for the whole family. Michael has a very good performance in the film (or series of short films rather), delivering genuine emotion, particularly towards the end of the film. The film is targeted for children and Jackson's fans, so I think that it is safe to say this film is not for everyone. My only complaint with the film is that it can feel disjointed at times and it has a mediocre script. But that is not to say that this isn't a delightful film about friendship, loyalty, and magic.
