Almost everyone in the film wears a plastic animal mask and I am not sure why. I guess "Animal Farm" wouldn't work. The film was more like a "Motel Hell" with Texas Chainsaw elements. On the phone, the boss says, "Hodder is coming," but he never shows.
An irritating couple on their way to his country home opts to rest at some remote cabins. Bad choice. They stopped at three places along the way that were odd instead of one good one that was odd. Who puts a parking meter next to a bright red fire hydrant? The hydrant looked freshly painted while the rest of the town was abandoned. You don't have to use every prop you own.
At some point, Alex gets freed and helps his girlfriend. I missed the part where he was freed. The subtitles were badly out of sequence with the voices in my Redbox rental. Worse than any bootleg. Was this a huge cannibal cult or just people catering to unsuspected folks?
Guide: F-word. Nudity that wasn't pretty.
