This movie was so far ahead of its time it wasn't funny. The director hauled everything in for miles and made the photographers be in the water to create realism and a movie goer point of view. The actors did all the stunts. They learned how to shoot bows properly and canoe severe whitewater. The soundtrack and back ground noises are. Incredibly real.
The acting is fantastic, but directed to excellence. So many films have copied elements of this movie, as well as how to shoot a movie on location e.g. Platoon, Predator, etc.
The one scene I have to fast forward though is too harsh for me, but it happens, so I respect it. If you can't appreciate this film then you have no business reviewing films.
