EuroTrip is a decent comedy that should satisfy most teens but little of everyone else. After a misunderstanding between Scotty {Scott Mechlowicz} and his German Email pen pal, he learns that she is a hot girl only after she breaks off contact with him. With three of his best friends, Scotty treks across Europe trying to find her, while meeting a lot of strange characters and getting into embarrassing situations that will do little to help American foreign relations. The plot is nothing new as this is just another raunchy teen flick. Its not out to win awards just to make a few fans and earn some money. The cast is mostly made up of unknowns. The most notable name is probably Michelle Trachtenberg and she does a good job in the film. Jacob Pitts is the funniest person in the film and he looks like a young David Spade. Scott Mechlowicz plays Scotty and I really didn't find him very funny. There's also a couple of cameos from Matt Damon, Kristin Kreuk and Vinnie Jones. While Eurotrip has its share of funny moments there's also a lot of scenes that are sure to offend people. This is just a silly movie and not one to be taken seriously. One example is a German kid pretending to be Hitler, not only is that scene not funny but its also bound to upset some people. Jeff Schaffer does a good job of directing and he makes up for writing the horrible Cat in the Hat. The places they visit include Rome, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and a couple of other places. It would have been better if they had filmed in all these locations instead of just Prague. I'm guessing they didn't because they wanted to save money. Like most teen flicks this one isn't very memorable. With a run time of only 90 minutes, this film is definitely bearable if your a teen at least. In the end, if you think your going to like this film then you probably will. If you think your going to hate this film then you probably will. Rating 6/10 a pretty good comedy that's for teens only.
