Was thinking of Elex with Atc scm11s but have seen some neat motive sx2 for a good price, anybody tried this combination, or other speakers people might suggest,  kef r3s also get a good review ?

I run KEF R300s with a Rega Elicit-R. Very dynamic with great mids and highs but the way the Rega controls the bass is astounding, fast and precise. Bass notes not thumps. Perfect.

I have the Elex-R teamed-up with Neat Motive SX-1s...

I auditioned the Elex-R with the SX2s, SX-1s,  Iota-alphas and a pair of second-hand PMC Twenty5 23s.  Sources were my Planar 3 with Hana EH, and my CD82.  I eventually narrowed things down to the SX1s and SX2s.  The SX1s (which I ended up with) were so much better in the lower frequency region - I never regretted paying that little bit extra.

I would audition the SX1s against the SX2s - with the Elex-R and you favourite vinyl and CD sources.

Good hunting!

I owned an Elex-R for six months, was very impressed at audition, probably because of its bold  sound, However, I found the mid-range to be extremely congested at music peaks losing the separation between instruments. So I bit the bullet and went for a Sudden A21SE whichI run with Neat iota speakers.
