I did see the original movie years ago when it was released on DVD, and while I don't remember a lot about it, I do remember that I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about it. Even at its best, it was more interesting than scary. So I'm not sure why I decided to watch this follow-up, apart from the fact that I got it for free from my local library.

Well, I could go on for quite some time about why this follow-up is so unsatisfying, but I'll just list my main complaint about it. If you have seen the original movie, there is no reason to see this follow-up. It plays more like a remake than a true sequel. Oh, there is some new technology, and it's a little slicker than the original movie, but it just feels so tired and familiar all the same that you'll be several steps ahead of whatever is going on at any moment. In short, it's an utter waste of time, not just for the audience, but for the people who made it as well.
