It's about the capacity limit of the storage format

SD/SDHC/SDXC Specifications and Compatibility

I used to buy sandisk but have transitioned to Samsung evo plus. Great card. Have only purchased from direct Amazon listing, not worth it to risk fakes or warranty problems with third party vendors or random sellers on the bay. Amazon return / refund policy is hassle free.

SD and Micro SD Memory Cards

Thanks yeah I did some googling and established.
MicroSD is the smallest in capacity , MicroSDHC is medium and MicroSDXC is the largest.

Does it make any difference whether I buy a cheap one or not ? Can always pop into Tesco as they have good deals there sometimes. Looking for 32GB

It is important to backup everything.

With that out of the way,

What £value would you mean by "cheap". Direct from amazon the 32gb Samsung evo plus is under £6 and the 64gb is £11. Sandisk branded cards showing comparable pricing.

Other retailers available.

I suspect the high street will be unable to match the price and choice of online

I have this in both my S10 and Tab S4 tablet;
Integral 256GB UltimaPRO V30 Premium Micro SD Card (SDXC) UHS-I U3   Adapter - 100MB/s

Its a great external SD, where speed is not primary concern, but capacity is.

Personally I always use Samsung or SanDisk and always buy from a reputable retailer to reduce the chances of getting a fake. I have been caught out by Amazon before with that, but they're still my go-to retailer. Their prices are usually pretty reasonable and they regularly have discounts on the two brands.

1 for Samsung. Had always bought Sandisk until started having problems.

Also don't think buying direct from Amazon will stop you getting fake SD cards. I have received 3 fake Sandisk cards direct form Amazon and had them confirmed fake by Sandisk themselves. Easy to return but annoying all the same.

I will pick one up from a local store then
I heard class 10 is the best

Having an SD card with music on it won't slow down my phone will it?

A high read speed for an sd card is not required to read i.e. play music. The benefits of a high read / write speed will be more apparent for taking and editing multiple photos and videos to avoid that saving delay and lag.
