Brave browser is a good one to block all the stuff on avforums.
The question regarding WiFi is a difficult one. Sure WiFi can be insecure, but the real point is whether the website you are connecting to is secure. If you have https encryption enabled then there is little the WiFi access point can do. If it does try and break the https connection by inspecting the payload then you should get a certificate warning. Never just say trust to those kind of certificate warnings. In many ways it is no different with a vpn connection. An insecure WiFi could still attempt a man in the middle attack.
So personally I wouldn’t recommend going down that route. Unless you want to hide your location, or destinations, or perhaps want to watch tv from another country. Or do stuff that is against the terms and conditions of the WiFi. |
