Looking for a phone for 12 year old

i spent some time with her this morning and we talked about the phones and she actually really likes the Note 7 pro or 8. She was very excited and hopes to get one for Christmas. now I need to decide what one to get

With all this changing around is it based on school impressions, the internet or seeing the handset in person

P.s. If you buy second hand be sure it is a reputable seller to minimise the risk of an imei block

let me give some disadvantages of non iphones so it doesn't look like im biased

iphones hold value well, they would be easier to sell because many people.will.prefer a second hand.old.iphone rather than a newer higher spec android based phone, they have much better brand image, it has apple car play and great software.

the notes don't have contactless payment/ncf but i guess thats not important for a 12 year old

Thanks for all your comments. Out of the phones mentioned including iPhone 6 & 7 and now mi 9 lite what would you recommend, all are in my price range so that’s good? Thanks

well the iPhone 6 and 7 are very old in phone terms and very poor value for money. only recommended if its got to have the iphone badge.
