Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me, I'm looking at getting a gaming pc coming over from console. My budget for the rig itself is £500, was just wondering if anyone could help me find one. Ideally I would need a gtx 1060 or rx 580, with atleast 16gb ddr4 ram. I don't mind buying used of ebay as long as I know it worth it etc and I get the right deal. Would appreciate any help.
Thanks

You would be hard pressed to find a gaming rig with that spec for £500 or less, having a look your best bet would be overclockers here: The UK’s Leading PC Builder and Retailer | Overclockers UK
You can configure your own there and they'll put it together. Depending on all the other parts you need you're probably not going to save much (if at all) on costs if you were to purchase all items individually and put it together yourself.
Also keep in mind if you were to individually purchase the components then you need to be aware of which manufacturers cover the warranty on items you don't hold the sales receipt for. If you were to buy a used graphics card off ebay for example and it fails the manufacturer may not issue you a replacement or fix it. It depends on the brand, some do some don't just be aware and check to see which cover you.
Happy to help further

Overclockers are silly expensive, have a look  at CCL online or AWD-IT.

If I were in your shoes I'd be looking at buying second hand from the AVF classifieds from a reputable member with good trading feedback. You'll get far more for your money in that price range than buying new.

Do you want a built pc or are you willing to build it yourself ?

As mentioned above you could put together a decent pc using parts bought from the classifieds for £500

I have a GTX1060 6gb that I used for 2 months before buying a 1070 just sat here, not had chance to advertise it yet if you go down the self build root.

I would buy this ryzen bundle
For Sale - Huge Clearout
The SSD is gone so maybe cost £240. Leaves you £260 for a hard drive and GPU (probably Vega 56 second hand, plenty of power)

Ahh yes it does, ignore me. That is a good bundle that should be good for 3 years, possibly longer. The SSD is small so I would still pick up a hard drive for games (1TB might be enough for now).
£260 should get you a GTX 1660ti or Vega 56 new, choice is down to whether you prefer Nvidia or AMD as they perform similar

Have a look at the latest issue of Custom PC in the shops, they have a "build your own gaming PC for £500-odd" guide with the headline splashed on the front.
