They're 7.1, and really good sound quality.

The 9900k is going to make no actual difference because at higher resolutions your gpu will bottleneck. Unless you’re doing work that utilises it, it’s just not working.

I wouldn’t get anything from laptops direct. You need warranty with any monitor which is why I suggested dell.
The 34-f is great from lg too

@aoaaron, Out of interest? Why are you selling your monitors?

I have the above monitor but the gsync version.. got it before nvidia supported freesync.  I have the 2080ti and 9900k all water cooled and don’t consider it overkill at all.  Games are using mutlicores now but if I were to build the machine now I would defo get the amd cpu.   Have you thought about the heat output of the 9900k it gets very hot and need really
Good cooling

I bought the CRG9 Samsung so I don't need the two of them anymore.

They're absolutely beautiful, in great condition. I have one offer from someone for 650 for one of them.

I've unboxed my CRG9 today and it has 2 dead pixels which is a bit annoying. I'm going to chance a replacement and just settle with whichever screen has the least dead pixels.

The build quality of the CRG9 is no where near the alienware but the 32:9 i love. The Alienwares are literally just built like TANKs and ooze quality and classic which neither LG, Samsung or anyone else provides. . Never handled a monitor which feels so premium. however alienware don't do a 32:9 monitor;

32:9 might be something to consider for yourself but I feel like jumping from TV to 32:9 is a massive jump and you might end up spending more time trying to make games work than enjoying them. Also for competitive play they suck as they are too immersive.

Which game are you playing which has utilised your 9900k and gained you adequate frames over a 9700k/8086k/8700k which has affected your gameplay experience?

I do agree with you, I think a 3600 is a no brainer. And by the time the 3600 is irrelevant, you have a few upgrade options like a 4900x as I think AMD are still committed to the board.

You save a solid £200 and for ultrawide/4k, its never going to be your bottleneck with the exception of emulation.

If you want emulation, then intel are still king cos of the single threaded performance.

Update: went for a I7-9700 instead, the slight increase in power isn't worth it. Was concerned about a lack of hyper threading but I don't think that affect games too much.

Yea, took your advice on that one. Also sacked off pc specialist and ordered all the parts myself, all new apart from the RTX 2080TI which was second hand (barely used) for £750. So saved almost a grand on the new build, with me doing it myself. After watching videos all day, I'm confident I can do it no problem.
