About World of Warships
World of Warships is a free, historical, online naval combat game from Wargaming—the creators of the massively popular, free-to-play hit World of Tanks. The game is available only on PC. Since 2015, we’ve offered the possibility to take on the role of Commander on any one of hundreds of warships from the vast multinational naval fleet that’s available in-game.
The core of the game revolves around fighting large-scale online naval battles in an environment that favours teamwork and strategic initiative. Ambushes, flanking assaults and coordinated pushes are just some of the tactics that will bring you victory on the high seas.
This Tactical diversity stems from the choice of ship classes available to you in-game. Currently, you have a choice between nimble destroyers, versatile cruisers, powerful battleships, and all-seeing aircraft carriers.
But we’ve come a long way since 2015.
With Monthly game updates consistently bringing new ships, maps, game modes, and possibilities to the table, you can always expect a dynamic and ever-shifting battlefield.
In the past year alone, we’ve introduced four new tech tree branches:

As of now, our fleet features over 200 ships from among the world's leading historical naval forces, dating back to First and Second World Wars. By studying each nationality's strong points and quirks, you can then weigh up the gameplay possibilities and use them in a battle to develop your own tactics.
