Just get a 3600 and a 2080 with 16GB of 3200 samsung B-die RAM and call it a day.
anyone stating the 3600 is going to become irrelavant due to the next gen consoles is being silly. The next gen consoles are going to suck just as hard as consoles always have compared to PC hardware.
and processing compute power has up until now in console gaming never affected much outside of the latest assasin's creed game. I don't see this changing with the resolution race to 4k.
Also at the end of the day, the processor's job of hitting at least 60fps will always work and at higher resolution's we're GPU limited.
On the 2080 vs 2080ti debate, its just not the right time to buy the overpriced 2080ti when we have a refresh of GPUs coming next year with hopefully something to come from AMD to push Nvidia to try at least a little bit.
For the price of upgrading from a 3600 to a 3900x and a 2080 to a 2080ti, you'd be able to buy probably 50% of your components for a second rig in a years time, and 2 rigs is always better than one.
Trying to future proof a PC has always been stupid because tech moves too fast and sadly we're also on the cusp of 4k/60 so getting over that finishing line is going to be much easier next gen. |
