Yoshi’s New Island is the first instalment in the series since Yoshi’s Island DS was released in 2006.

Yoshi’s good old Flutter Jump, Ground Pound and egg-throwing return, along with new abilities and challenges that take advantage of the features of the Nintendo 3DS. You can use massive eggs called Mega-Eggs to destroy blocks and pipes, revealing secrets such as coins and hidden keys. The more things you destroy, the higher the Mega-Egg gauge goes, netting you extra lives in the process! The beautiful art is based on many classic styles, such as oil painting, watercolours and crayon drawings.

                               


The original SNES game is one of my all-time favourite games. Definitely one of the greatest 2D platformers ever created in my opinion. The DS game wasn't bad, just nowhere near the quality of the SNES one. This one looks pretty good though!

Review here!He points out its not changed really from previous ones,is that such a bad thing??what about people new to the series or anyone just looking for an easy going game to play??i for one think it looks really good and look forward to picking up tomorrow!

I'm also getting this tomorrow as I really loved the SNES original. I'm also getting the Yoshi 3DSXL as I felt it's about time I upgraded to the bigger screen size.

Had this delivered this morning but won't get time to play for another few weeks yet I think.
Looking forward to playing this as I've never finished the other 2 and it's been years since I played them making this one essentially a fresh platformer for me.

I got it on Friday, finished it on Monday.  I wasn't overly impressed with it at all.  The foundations are obviously good but it's not a game to remember.

There isn't anything different in this game at all and everything in the game is fairly obviously, unlike say the NSMB series, where some of the star coins are pretty hard to find.

Pick it up if you get it cheap, but otherwise avoid paying full price.  I'm trading in my copy to CEX tomorrow.

Looks like Kirby is going to be the 3DS platformer to bag this year.
