Club Nintendo - why so rubbish?

Having not used Club N for a long while I thought I would register my recent purchases.
I had roughly 8000 points according to when I signed in last - all of which are now expired.
Registered some new codes from my mass of Wii U games I have purchased, only to be greated with 1000 of those points expiring in less than 3 days from now.
Then codes I attempted to register I got a couple that they are expired for this product.

Though I would buy some of the points instead hoping to put towards a couple of games or DLC but noooo can't use that because they are not available for Wii U purchases or 3DS store - the only two consoles that we own from Nintendo.

As much as I love Nintendo games, their online and loyalty stuff is particularly bad IMO.

You can use the Wii points on the Wii side of the Wii U if any games there take your fancy.

Cheers for that Hippo, not booted up the Wii mode since I got it so will have a look through the store - probably pick up some retro Nintendo games in that case.

Why do the points even expire =/ that is a stupid thing!

I have got some cool stuff off of it, but have timed it really well.
