Restoring pre installed software

Thinking of getting a new DS but i'll want to put a bigger SD card in so my question is how I can go about this?

Can i re download or just copy the old card to the new via PC or is pre installed software in the DS itself and not on a card?

When you do a system transfer you can then redownload it from the eshop

I won't be doing a system transfer though. I just want to replace the supplied SD card with a larger capacity one without losing the pre installed game.

Just copy the whole SD cards files to your pc, then paste the copied files onto the new SD card, insert it, and that should be it.
