Downloaded this yesterday and it's bloody brilliant! It's always been one of my favourite video games (since first sitting in the cabinet in the mid 80's) and this game is perfectly suited to the 3DS.
I've downloaded Galaxy Force 2 and Super Hang on as well previously (both are also great) and this time Afterburner has been given the same special treatment by M2.
You can play in a range of cabinets, which look to simulate playing on the actual arcade machines, there are a range of screen sizes, a superb graphic equaliser to get those banging tunes just as you want them and also a fantastic 'special' mode, where you play through on 1 credit and need to build up lives using an Arfterburner climaxesque 'Burst Mode'. Burst mode is a bit like Bullet time, where it all slows down, allowing you to rack up some big points! The 3D is also superb and adds a lot to a title which has always generated its thrills from it's fast moving, multilayered 3D graphics. Can't wait to play it on the new 3DSXL with head tracking 3D.
I'd recommend that anyone who loved this classic (or who just loves great high temp action games) picks this up asap! A bargain at just over £4.
