Can I play my XBox One to 27" Mac 2016? I've no room for an extra monitor. I think you can get an adapter? Will it work ? Thanks.

No is the short answer.

Your iMac has a display input but it's Thunderbolt based using Displayport tech over that, you'd need a HDMI to Thunderbolt/Displayport conversion box and they dont those exist. Only's Mac's and PC's have Thunderbolt.

More info here.

Microsoft do have an Xbox streaming feature but it's only available on Windows 10, it may not be pretty but you could use a Win10 virtual machine like Parallels which allows you to pin Windows apps to OSX desktop, then run the Win10 Xbox app and stream from the console. But as I said there will be a hit to image quality & possible latency issues.

It's that or get a video capture device with HDMI input and plug that into the iMac, may or may not have some latency issues with this approach as well.

If you have a look on ebay you might find small displays with HDMI like sub 20 inch.

Or consider a projector to display on the wall, now they are normally quite expensive but you can get what are called pico projectors at affordable prices they range in the £60-200 price point and with a pull down screen you shouldn't spend much. How well they work I cant say, never used one but the people in the projectors section of this forum may know more.
