Blade runner final cut Atmos problems

Is anyone else having issues getting the Dolby Atmos track to work with the x? It only plays in truehd.  I have a Marantz SR7011 which is fine with other films so I just can’t work it out. Occasionally the Blu-ray app does say my amp can’t play Atmos but that goes away after a reboot. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hmmm so now non of my discs say Atmos when playing. There was a Marantz update recently. I winder if they have disabled Atmos now if you don’t have Atmos speakers attached. The Dolby app still shows Atmos though... it’s all a bit wierd.

The plot thickens. Latest blade runner 2049 disc allows me to select the Atmos mix from the amps menu. The blade runner final cut disc does not. Neither does Dunkirk. So I don’t know if there are differences between the way the discs are encoded or what. Still think it’s wierdness in the Xbox Blu-ray app.

If you don’t have Atmos speaker setup then you will only get Dolby True HD regardless if your amp has Atmos encoding. My old Onkyo would often display Atmos even though it was 5.1 And my new Sony 1080 which has Atmos will only display True HD as I don’t have the urge to run wire up my ceiling or buy upward firing Atmos speakers.

BR 2049 sounded incredible via my Xbox x and the Sony anyway.
