Question Issue with TV remaining in HDR Mode

I have an issue but im not sure if its an amp issue, a tv issue or an xbox issue...

When playing XBOX and the game is optimised for HDR, the backlight and brightness of my TV go to max which it is meant to do, however, on occasion, when i go back to the xbox home screen or switch the input to sky, instead of reverting back to the normal picture settings, the picture settings remain in HDR mode and the picture looks terrible.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Maybe a bit of both, a bug and design issue.

I assume your running the XB1X through the Sony receiver, then into the TV.

If you don't formally quit the game (pressing menu on active tile and select quit) and instead browse the home screen or activate some other function like the Sky input the kill HDR signal may not be being properly sent. So the TV still thinks it is receiving a HDR signal hence everything looking wrong.

Only things I can suggest are always formally quit a HDR game before doing something else in the UI.

Secondly Sony have firmware updates available for that receiver, I'd recommend using the receivers own built in internet firmware update tool but you can manually download from that site too. Perhaps it is a bug in the Sony receiver not terminating the HDR signal properly and hope that Sony fixed it.
