Battlefield 1 HDR Calibration Setting

I started this thread over on the Battlefield forums too:

I figure I might get a better response here. If you go to the video settings there is now an option to adjust the HDR output. So it says "Move the slider until the boxes are the same brightness."

Does that mean both sides of the box should be white? Does the number in the slider represent nits? I wish this was better explained.

Basically the inner box needs to be the same color white as the outer box. Or in other words.. the inner box is not visible.
