So I get this weird blocky/pixilation on some games when the game is using HDR on ps4 pro. Not always but in some cases (like the below image of battlefront 2 beta, which is a moving cgi scene) as you can see the display looks really blocky. Seems to be when its dark areas and usually in cgi cutscenes only, It's never an issue in actual gameplay though, everything looks smooth and normal when in game. Also notice some blocky colours in menus now and then, especially when it looks like its trying to be a gradient sort of effect, I think the term is colour banding? I'm not that techy so I'm not sure how to word it.
Could this be an HDMI issue? I'm using the one that came with the ps4 pro? I also noticed that the HDMI that came with my old regular ps4 performs the same when used on the pro, I thought the ps4 pro was meant to use the 2.0 cable, but I get same performance out of the old HDMI. So I'm wondering if my pro has come with a defective or incorrect HDMI cable. (also attached the video output information when in HDR mode on my ps4 pro below).
I'm guessing this is the Battlefront 2 demo right....? I see the EXACT same thing on the Xbox One S beta so it's something to do with the code itself as you'll notice the brightness of the HDR fluctuating all over the place in the menus and loading screens as well as this horrible banding.
Yes i got the same effect on same title screen with the pro hooked up to ks7000 via avr. Using supplied cable and a high speed hdmi cable. Assumed its poor code. Other games do it on similar screens also.
