Does anyone have 2 ps4’s Using the one acct ?

i have a PS4 downstairs which I use and my son plays it occasionally.

I’m now getting him one for Xmas and wondering if we will be able to use same account and I can let him play some games I’ve downloaded to my PS4 ?

Been looking at this extensively as I’m in the same boat, there’s a hell of a lot of badly written articles that make a mess of trying to explain it, hopefully this will explanation will help.

As a PSN user, you can sign into as many PS4’s as you like. You can only make one of these your ‘Primary Console’

On your nominated primary console, both yourself and any other users can access your downloaded games and PS  subscription.

On any other PS4 console, ONLY you can access purchased games. So if your existing PS4 console is your primary, your Son can download your games to his PS4, but he can only play them if he signs in as you.

Also note if he signs in as you to do that, and you then sign into the existing PS4 console then I believe it will sign him out.

And if it helps I have the same setup.

I have the console that is set to primary in my sons room. That way he can access all of my content but on his own PSN ID, i.e. because it is my primary console it gets access to all the material my PSN account owns regardless of which account is signed in.

I then have the second PS4 in my office/man-pit and given the only account ever used on it is my PSN ID it has access also to all of my purchased material.  

What I haven't tried is him using a purchase on the primary console, under his ID,  at the same time I use the same purchase on my console. Will try later.

This is also how I operate.

To answer the original question directly: you can’t login to two PS4s with the same account online at the same time. The second login will kick you offline for the first.

You get round this by having separate accounts.

My son's console is the one which I have assigned as my Primary PS4 which means he can use all of my purchased content.  My main console is not assigned as primary which means I can access my content when logged in as me, but no other user of that console can - which is OK because I’m really the only one that uses it.
