Hi all,

Im hoping someone can help me with some problems I am having with my new Denon x6300h and my PS4 pro. I recently upgraded my receiver to the Denon after having a trusty old Yamaha which never missed a beat. Now with the new AVR I am having weird issues where the Denon doesnt always pick up with  signal from the PS4 so the screen remains blank. I have a 4K capable TV also so I seriously doubt the TV is the cause of the problem.

My PS4 is connected to the AVR using the cable provided by Sony. AVR is connected to my 4K tv. When I run this setup, sometimes the screen displays and sometimes it doesnt. If it doesnt I turn the AVR off and on again and the signal from PS4 is detected and displayed on screen. If I switch to another input on AVR and back again, sometimes the PS4 display shows up and sometimes it doesnt. Its really hit an miss. I have set the correct setting son both PS4 and AVR and still have intermittent issues.

Another thing which is strange is when I switch my AVR to the PS4 input, it can take up 10 seconds for the AVR to detect the signal and then display on the screen. When compared to my old Yammy, this seems excessively long. I like the Denon but if these issues continue I will probably end up taking it back as its unreliable.

I have connected the PS4 directly to the TV and it works fine. Im lost for where to go now.
Any help would be appreciated.

Is your display also HDR. PS4 hdmi lead to AVR will be 18gpbs , is your hdmi from AVR to display also 18gpbs ?  I have the Pro running through my Denon x2200 to a HDR display, on the Denon settings you need to disable video conversion to get full 4K HDR.

If it's any consolation I've got the X2300 and a PS4 Pro and have no issues whatsoever.

The things I always make sure of are:

1) Use properly rated HDMI cable to the amp and to the TV (I use Akord ones)
2) I turn off all HDMI-CEC on every dvice as I've just found this confuses systems and causes problems
3) I made sure all video processing on the amp (IP Scaler etc...) are switched off so that it is only in pass through mode.
