Playstation 2 Appreciation Thread

Hey guys

Recently I blew the dust of my Old PS2 silver slim, Ive been playing some of my old games the last few days such as Tony hawks 3, Harry Potter, Gran Turismo 4, God of war etc...

I nearly had forgotten just how badass this console is. Have you played any of your old ps2 titles recently? What is your fondest memory or your favourite game you spent hours playing?

SSX Tricky and SSX 3. The best games on the system, so tempted to buy a PS2 just to play those again but alas my TV has no analogue inputs.

I was more in love with the games on the PSone, to be honest, but yes, the PS2 was almost as good. Love that you've got Buffy: Chaos Bleeds on there

Buffy chaos bleeds is a great game! Still one of my favs, Im thinking of modding my ps2 so i can run all my disc games from a hard drive because my ps2 has been sketchy lately.

I wouldn't know the first thing about modding and stuff, but from what I hear, you can pay PS2 games on an early PS3. The mod will probably be cheaper though.

Loved my PS2. Favourite games were Tenchu and the Conflict Desert Storm games.

I sold my PS2 many years ago but wish I hadn't as I'd love to play Conflict Desert Storm 2 again. I did manage to buy Desert Storm 1 for the xbox which works on my 360 but Desert Storm 2 is not compatible.
The way you were able to take control of any of the four squad members has never been bettered imo. I also love that the levels are not "open world" as that has ruined so many games for me.

Oh of course Burnout 2 was a great 2 player racing game which of course got ruined by the open world versions on the 360.

I own over 200 games for the PS2 as it's my favorite console.

My favorites are Black, Scarface, Matrix Path Of Neo, Mercenaries, Hitman 2, Socom 2, Battelfront 1 & 2, Need For Speed Most Wanted, and Tony Hawk's Underground 2.

Wow, I remember getting my PS2 back in November 2000,  being scared as hell carrying over £500 (most money I ever had as a 16 year old ) to the local EB shop at 4am on launch day!!

Launch titles I purchased were Tekken Tag Tournament, Fantavision, Silent Scope, Dark Cloud.

My favourite games were Gran Turismo 3   4, MGS2 and Silent Hill 2. Those were the days

For anyone going back now to replay PS2, I would recommend steering clear of the PS2 fat models and opt for the slim. Goodness knows how many fat PS2 systems I went through!
