Just to let you know I picked mine up today. Once the tracking info said awaiting payment of charges I went into the local depot and paid and collected. So the box was about £155 and the charges were £35, well £34.94...
I played it for about an hour or two tonight and first impressions are mostly really good. It's very comfortable to rest your hands on, the way the front slopes down. I've heard a lot about the controls being poor quality. I actually like the joystick, it feels nice. The buttons however feel like, and I'm quoting a couple of other reviews, 'garbage'. So I'll replace them asap. Just not sure if I should change the sticks as well just to get the best experience... but that's an extra £70 to do all that.
The emulation quality is pretty good, some screen tearing in some of the scrolling games but it hasn't been too bad, and the fighters are spot on. I tried it on the ps3 as well and that works well, you have to have the unit powered on though. Not much else to say at the mo, I'll prob do a video review next week maybe with my new buttons etc
It's pretty big and heavy, looks well built though. Also the volume slider isn't great. Like the game loading music is annoying so I try and mute it but the slider doesn't work while it's on the loading screen, you have to mute it before loading a game and turn it up after. Bit weird. Also changing the internal speaker volume changes the tv volume as well. Oh yeah and on hdmi it cropped off the top/bottom of the screen on both tvs I tried it on. Didnt in vga though. Yeah good machine though |
