a big taste difference

I am pretty new to e cigs, i have a small pen type vaper the flavour is full and nice, when i use the same liquid in my larger Dovpro 30 watt plus sub tank the taste is rather sharp and no where near as nice and i just end up coughing my guts up,it really just hits you in the back of the throat, so i tend to use the smaller one.

Whats going on ?

The other bit of kit i have is this with a similar tank on it (the starter kit), and this is so much nicer.

What mg of nicotine are you using ? You will need a much lower nicotine level in the sub tank as it will make you cough

This clearomiser tank and its coils are designed for sub-ohm vaping. They require more vaping experience to use safely, and extra care should be taken when using a sub-ohm tank. This tank will only work on a mod capable of firing sub-ohm atomisers. Please ensure that your batteries can handle the extra power requirements, and that your mod can handle the amps.

We also advise not to use any e-liquid with more than 6mg of nicotine, as your vapour may taste harsh. Sub-ohm vaping produces a bigger throat hit than standard coils, and extra care should be taken.

By 3% I take it you mean 3mg which should be fine for a sub tank.

A sub tank is a totally different experience to a ego pen type device and will take some getting used to.

At the end of the day you need to find what is good for you.

Just as much to do with the PG/VG blend, im assuming its a high pg% juice if is harsh in sub ohm.
Look on bottle and see what it says. Really want above 70% VG for sub ohm vape.
I couldnt imagine using my fave sub zero menthol 55%pg in any of my  subtanks, would be a throat killer.
3% nicotine is high if u actually meant 3% (30mg)

Just had to find something to magnify the writing its that small. its 6mg no mention of mix rate even tho the web page shows a 50/50 mix and a 80 /20.

Try turning down the wattage to 8w and gradually increase it until you find a good place.
Some liquids aren't great at higher watts depending on the ingredients. It's just a a case of adjusting until it tastes ok.

I vape custard and only use between 7-8w with a 1ohm coil. Anything above that I find the sweeteners in it start to burn and the taste goes off.
