Need some advice please folks, ideally from someone that uses the rebuildable for the smok baby beast.

Having a nightmare getting the wicking right. Tried it with the preinstalled claptons. First of all I was getting constant dry hits, I greatly reduced the amount of cotton, this caused the tank to just flood - the liquid was literally peeing out of the air intake. I tried again with slightly more cotton & whilst this stopped the flooding I found I had to get down to 25-30 watts (stock claptons are 0.321 ohms) to stop the vape being harsh. The problem is at this wattage the taste was just dull.

Tonight I took the stock coils out & wrapped my own, increasing the inner diameter from 2 to 2.5mm, the idea being that I should be able to get more cotton & therefore more juice inside them. 9 wraps of 24 gauge kanthal came to 0.439 ohms. Wicked these up so cotton is touching all of the inside without being tight & pulled the end of the wick through the juice holes. Whilst they are better than the stock coils I'm still finding that it's harsh above 50watts & below that still tastes rather dull to me.

I don't believe the cotton I'm using is the issue I use the same cotton in my rda at 120-130 watts with0.2-0.3 coils without issue so I know it can handle heat.

Can anyone give an idea of where I may be going wrong?

Only thing i can say is do it the same as any rda etc not too much cotton but a nice slight resistance as u pull it thru but put cotton right down both sides of juice well but leaving it open in the middle so juice can flood in and go left and right to wick up easy.

This is full tfv8 but rba will be same just fraction bigger. might be even more important to leave wicking room on the baby.

After 5mins in for the build.

Cheers buddy, a big difference I can see from that vid is the 'daddy' rba has two large juice inlets, the baby has 4 but they are much much smaller.

Was just watching couple vids and seems to be great if done well. Any luck yet with it?  I see the difference see what u mean and looks like the baby has less chance of leaking to me.
Was sure my original beast rba was gonna leak but never, First ever rba build and even had it sitting unused for week or so and was still ok. Wasn't really a big fan mind you but was decent.

Have a look at these builds. hope not minding some language in the first lol the guy is mad. and second looks a better video for build itself.

A mate of mine that has experience wicking the full sized RBA had a go at it yesterday for me. It is working much better now, with a much fuller flavour. He used cotton bacon but doesn't think that the issue was due to my cotton, he thought from looking at it that I had compressed the cotton too much when I was dragging it though the juice holes. He didn't do this, he fluffed it up & allowed it to sit on the inside of the juice intake.

On the plus side, he kept the coils that I put in in there as he said that they were damn near perfect - quite chuffed with that considering it's the first time that I have ever put my own coils in anything
