Battery advice......

I've got the Smok g-priv and up to now have been using the baby beast tank with 6 coils at 80W on the 'soft' setting.

I upgraded to a TFV12 tank with the 12-coils. Rated at best performance between 130-200W I found 150W was perfect.

Anyway, what's happening is that the batteries are going down to half charge and then I'm getting a 'weak battery' message and the device doesn't fire at all.

I'm using these batteries:

2 x Fogstar 18650 3.7V 3500mAh 10/20A Premium Vaping Battery - Flat Top - Independently Tested:Amazon.co.uk:Electronics

and this charger:

XTAR VC2 Premium USB Charger w/ LCD Screen Display (MC Series Upgrade)18350 18500 18650 18700 14500 16340 17500 Li-ion Battery Charger(Without Batteries):Amazon.co.uk:Electronics

What batteries would be able to handle my set-up?

Would these be better?:

2 x Fogstar 18650 3.7V 2500mAh 23/35A Premium Vaping Battery - Flat Top - Independantly Tested:Amazon.co.uk:Electronics

Cheers if you can help.

I'd have a look at torchy the battery boy on eBay. 150 w will hammer most batteries tbf though.

I realise this is probably little help to what your asking, but i think you're drawing to many amps(continuosly) for the batteries you have. There are some proper gurus on here though.

The batts you are using don't have the amp power compared to either the Samsung 25r or the Sony VTC5. Thankfully the mod protects you and the batts where a  mechanical  mod could result in some rather hot batts venting and that's a disaster to say the least.
I've a feeling yours only do 10 amp continuous and I bet you are way over that so I would not be using them.
You want the higher amp batts like the above to help with using that sub tank but to be honest a lot of cloud chasers and that atty is a power beast, they use 3 or 4 batt mods which handle big attys much better.
I don't know the batts you linked to, I've always stuck with Samsung or Sony but you will always run out of pull before you hit the 3.2 limit on the batts by using such attys.
You want fresh batts, pair them up so you use them together and charge together and it may pay to have another pair so you can swap them over and keep vaping while the the other pair charge.
The charger you have is fine, I use that and I have the 4 batt version that also has the ability to charge at 1amp for 2 batts and half that for 3 and 4 batts.

Hey, thanks for that.

I've registered on the 'Planet of the Vapes' forum and have been getting lots of good advice on there tonight.

Needless to say, you back up everything I've been told so I have four Sony VTC5A's ordered.

I have a clearer understanding now of the maths involved in working out which batteries to get... so it's been an enlightening day.

At least I know the safety features work on my g-priv so that's handy!

Problem is aswell that even at half the rated max watts of a mod batts drain quite quickly especially with only a 2 battery mod.
Probably best to get a RX200s or a RX300 if want some decent battery life at 150w.

And yeah get some samsung 25r/30q or some LG HG2.

There's a handy calc that helps. It helps with what you could be drawing but there is some variations as mods differ a bit to how accurate it is but it's good as a guide.

Battery drain | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators

Perhaps at some stage you will step up to a larger mod. I think we all have various setups, home, work, we all have mods that keep us happy.

That's really useful.

Well, I vape because I suffer from 'restless legs syndrome.'

A few years ago I discovered, quite by accident, that taking a drag on a ciggie got rid of it within seconds. I kept a pack of fags in my kitchen draw solely for this purpose. I realized that wasn't the best option though so I switched to vaping and found that 3mg juice had the same effect.

I started with one of those ecigs that looks like a cigarette and then worked through various devices up to the Cool Fire IV and now the g-priv.

I've become a bit of a 'cloud chaser.' I only really use my device at home as that's when restless legs strike... when I'm relaxing. A few draws on my device every hour has proven to be a miracle cure.

My nephew also gets restless legs and I gave him my Cool Fire IV and it's worked for him too.

The TFV12 produces HUGE clouds and great taste and the display on the g-priv is superb so I'll be sticking with that for now. Should work better when I get my new batteries too.

Really appreciate the input here guys... thank you.
