I've been training with a couple of lads at a gym where I work in London, however I'm back in Birmingham at the moment and want to carry on training on my own. Just wondering if people knew of any good sites that give examples of the best exercises to do with free weights and the correct way to carry these out?
Also wondering what peoples thoughts are on training particular muscles at same time, is it best to do back and biceps on the same day for example or would chest and biceps be more suitable?

Probably best to ask this in the Ask a Personal Trainer thread:

Ask a Personal Trainer | AVForums

Lots of really helpful information in there too.

As @rb5201 says have a look at StrongLifts 5x5: The Simplest Workout To Get Stronger which uses five simple free weight compound exercises that hit all the big muscle groups. Proper form is explained very well in word, picture and video format. The free app also has videos so you can check them again at the gym on your phone if you need to.

I've only been following it for a couple of months myself, but the difference in my strength and muscle gain has been amazing.
