Hi all. Is anyone an avid gym goer or better yet a personal trainer? I need your advice.

I'm a big fella and have been working out and eating healthy for a while now with good results, dropping lots of weight. I recently got engaged and will be wed in February and so to be in the best shape possible I have been doing high intensity workouts for the last 2
months or so and again have had good results thanks to a friend of mine, who is a personal trainer, giving me advice.

I am flying out to the Philippines at the end of Jan for the wedding and before that I need to have my suit altered (too big on me now) as well as get some new shirts (decided to treat myself and have bespoke ones made) the first couple of weeks of January. When I have the measurements for these I want to knock the HIT on the head until I get back from the wedding so that my clothes are still the perfect fit for the wedding. My friend was going to devise a new training programme for me to maintain my weight rather than lose any more while still getting some much needed exercise. Only downside is he has recently gone off the map and won't return my calls (he does this from time to time!) and so I don't really know what to do.

Can anyone give me any suggestions? Shall I stick to the routine I had before I started HIT? I had been doing this routine for a while before and think I had plateau'd on it so could be worth just going back to that.

Any thoughts and opinions welcome. Thanks.

Me personally, I would just stick to it, can't imagine you'll lose much more by the end of Jan. If you do stop, then just watch what you eat and eat in moderation. If you quit, it'll be harder to get going again after the wedding and you don't want all that work going to waste.

There is also a stickie thread entitled "ask a personal trainer" try in there

I'm sure Wardy will be along soon and offer some advice (I'm no expert, just like exercise)

To be totally honest I am ready for a break from it also. It's getting to the point now where it is seriously hard work and it actually seems to be getting harder and harder. Plus the exercise equipment in the Philippines is limited so I would like a short break while I get married but still want to exercise and just have a nice, easier routine. I'll take a look for that personal trainer thread though, thanks.

What part of the philippines, cause even in the poor areas i've been too there were small gyms everywhere, even had fitness first in the malls.

I'm staying in Quezon City. The complex where my flat is has a gym in it which I can use for free but I'm not sure what equipment it has.
