I must be from your generation, but now I just use the 'honesty boxes' along the road and get my eggs, potatoes, and fruit while walking the dog. We have an endless supply of blackberries in our local hedges so my kids will collect a bucket full when in season.

We grow our own Brambles(blackberries) in the garden. Cut them right back every year then they grow the same. Trouble is we get that many and I try to be healthy but I like an occasional crumble in fact had one with Mother's Day lunch. So when clearing out the chest freezer in the garage at the weekend and despite never picking all the brambles each year I found at least 30 portion bags of them and will probably throw them.

Sloes and other berries mainly. Fields and woods all around us and loads of Hawthorn so we get rich pickings

Oh, and lots of odd mushrooms. If we want them

No, magic mushrooms tend to grow in fields. In fact, near to me during season I could find hundreds of liberty caps.

The type I find in the woods are Boletus. Normal boring Mushrooms

I used to collect magic mushrooms back in the day, normally around November when it had rained alot.  They often seemed to get really tiny worms on them after a couple of days of storage.  Didn't stop us though. :|

They are everywhere if you know where to look. A few pals and me even did some in the morning before school.

I wouldn't touch them nowadays. I'd probably freak out.

Well, Google directed me here as I was searching for advice on whether to buy an Apple or Blackberry phone. Wasn't what I was expecting!

Good god don't get a Blackberry. Only useful for corporations and even they are mostly switching to iOS and Android.
