Rotten veg from tesco

brought some veg earlier today from tesco not the loose stuff but he bagged stuff some carrots and potatoes, got them home and the carrots were rotten and the potatoes had already started sprouting. took them back wont buy veg from tesco again. anyone else had this ? is this a result of them getting rid of thier best before dates ?

They have got rid of the dates? How are the staff supposed to do it now? Check the contents of every bag. That’s just silly.

It's designed to stop people throwing edible food away, after they get it home, just because it's past it's "best".   I don't know whether it still has a "use by" date on it, but I would assume the store has a way of knowing whether it's past it's "display until" date.

Not sure why anyone buys so called fresh produce from supermarkets given the many documentaries showing how far from fresh it actually is.
The quality of their so called fresh fish and chicken is appalling.

i get the idea of removing best before dates but selling rotten veg isnt a good look for your company.

We're addressing your "is it because of doing away with best before dates?" question.   To which the answer is "no", unless your store never got the memo and is managed badly .  It's a given no shop should sell rotten veg.

i have just been to tesco and even the fruit with a few days left on the date is going bad. I have bought some blueberries and they are manky
