We cook our own curry at least once a week - once you have all the spices and stuff in it's a really cheap meal, although adding naan and pappodoms (sp?) costs a couple of quid. We tend just to make it up as we go along, but might try something a bit more interesting off the site in the first post. Using things like fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, chilli pickle and boiled egg makes for a nice variety of flavours and textures to change the basic balti / tandoori tastes from mixing up all the usual spices (ok, and curry powder, cheating a bit there) in various proportions. |
