Smart heating system

I have bought a new build house, I'm having a detached garage built for my office. There will be a 4 channel heating system in place, upstairs, downstairs, garage and hot water i presume..

I was looking at the honeywell evohome but maybe this is unneeded expense. Honeywell said their system will replace mine as you cannot have a zone within a zone...

All I want to do is control my heating and hot water remotely, it would also be nice to say turn on the living room and 2 bedrooms remotely but as these are on different zones how do I get around this.

Everything seems to be wireless from the products Ive been looking that. So is there no need for me to get it touch with the electrician and have extra cable run from the boiler to where the programmer will be..

Any decent Evohome installer can take you through the options to more readily zone up your house. One option is to trigger the two main heating zone valves from a single relay so that any rooms from those two zones trigger both valves to open. The existing zone valves are not so important once you have full room zone control - in effect you have moved the zone valves to each radiator instead. There will be a little more parasitic circulation, but the improved level of control in each room more than makes up for this small issue. At his makes far more sense than say using two Evo touch controllers simply to slow a room to trigger its own dedicated plantroom zone valve.
