The government will no longer subsidise on shore wind farms. This is being brought forward by a year- now 2016.
Local people will also have a say as to whether they want them or not.
I suppose the thinking is that the technology is sufficiently mature, to be allowed to stand on its own two feet. Secondly, many of us do not like our energy bills bumped up in supporting subsidies.
Its become a political football with Scotland and the SNP screaming foul due to the number of planned turbines, which now, are looking economically doubtful.
