That's some saving! Over how many months per year are you seeing that saving?
Working on 14p/kWh then you're utilising (from the generated energy) between 428 and 500 kWh per month (approx 14-16kWh/day).

Unless as my mate who got his solar panels the same time as me his meter runs backwards the jammy so and so. He makes no where near what I do in FIT as my orientation is nigh on perfect but this time of year he lies about his meter reading till it evens out in winter (as he doesn't want his meter changing for obvious reasons). He even makes sure he is "out" when the meter reader comes then leaves a fake reading on the door

Mines being installed on Weds and hoping for 3500kwh minimum per year from it.

For info, the average UK electric bill is around £1100 a year. You can usually save around 37% on this using PV Solar power. All averages, you can manipulate your usage to save more of course. We save around 35%, and have the feed in tariff at the highest amount. Someone saving £1000 a year must have an astronomical electrical bill.

They're going great - they look better than expected and been getting decent power for the time of year and they have been heating the hot water using the immersun which I am keeping an eye on.
It's produced 27KW so far

I also got the sunny ethernet adaptor so I can see the output from the web.

I've just bought an Owl Intuition.
It monitors the output of the panels and electric imported/exported and has a nice web interface with graphs. It tells you when it's best to use your power hungry appliances during the day.
It's pretty good value at £80 and all data uploaded to the cloud.

Solar panels going well and outputting higher than predicted.
I have also replaced the immersion heater for a new titanium one and seems to heat the water using about 3kw but only heats the top half of the tank which is enough for 2 or 3 showers. I made sure I put a long heater in (27") and when the water is hot the electric meter goes backwards.
