I think it is mainly a public awareness thing, rather than a practical proposition to reduce emissions. An opportunity to discuss the impact our lifestyles have on the environment, and how it will impact future generations.
(ps. it is also interesting to reflect that for most of the population, lights out is the norm. It is mainly the brightly lit west that is doing most damage to the environment, and the darker continents that will suffer the most from climate change.) |
